GROY'S FLOWER SHOP Flower Shop was originally found on the back of the property in the second block of West Chocolate Avenue. The shop was on the alley that separated the properties on Chocolate from the Abattoir building - now the Post Office building - (2011) - later when it became the Groy-Houser (Ed Groy and Fritz Houser) Flower Shop, it was move to the the front in the house - this house was torn down when the last of the houses on the north side of Chocolate Avenue were removed for the builidng of the parking garage and the "Hershey Story". 1 - Flower Shop - the shop in the back of the property - January 1952 - Notice the Hershey Abattoir in the background; 2 - Flower Shop - renovated shop in July 1952 - notice the garden behind the Groy house; 3 - Enlarged Flower Shop at Christmas - 1959; * |
